Abstract
The combination of the Lorenz curve and the Gini coefficient is a widely
used tool for measuring inequality in the distribution of income. In the
present paper we suggest inequality curves which possess simple interpretations
similar to the Lorenz curve and measures of inequality constructed by
integral functional mappings of these curves. In addition we introduce inequality
decompositions by factor components.
